THE CASN / RSAC MISSION
The mandate for each network will be to focus 100% on the broadcasting of amateur sport -- event coverage of Canadian amateur athletes competing nationally or internationally, and non-event programming where Canadian amateur athletes are featured or spotlighted close-up.
The mission of CASN/RSAC is to:
Canadian sport organizations that wish to inquire about broadcasting opportunities or funding opportunities from the Canadian Amateur Sport Broadcast Fund (CASBF) should refer to the following menu options:
CASN/RSAC will encourage those sports that currently enjoy coverage on other networks to maintain their existing relationships. The CASN/RSAC objective is to increase the coverage of all amateur sport, not to compete with other networks.
The mission of CASN/RSAC is to:
- Dramatically increase the television coverage of Canadian amateur sport;
- Generate substantial funds that will be contributed to a newly set up trust, the Canadian Amateur Sport Broadcast Fund (CASBF), to facilitate the delivery of amateur sport television coverage;
- Increase the marketability of amateur sport and assist in the sale of sponsorships to corporate Canada to the benefit of the participating sport bodies; and
- Enhance the well-being and self-image of Canadians.
