Benefits to Amateur Sports
CASN/RSAC will carry event coverage and provide multiple levels of support to Canadian sport federations, associations, and multi-sport organizations that meet the definition of an amateur sport body.
CASN/RSAC will:
CASN/RSAC will establish a Canadian Amateur Sport Broadcast Fund (CASBF). A significant portion of the networks’ subscription revenue and overall profits will be contributed to the CASBF. At maturity, this is projected to exceed $30 million annually – representing over 1/3 of all revenue.
Organizations that qualify as a Canadian amateur sport body may apply to the CASBF for financial support to assist their organization to:
CASN/RSAC will NOT pay cash rights fees for event programming staged in Canada. However, the networks will allocate up to 33% of available advertising inventory to the sport being broadcast at no charge and the participating sport organization can leverage this opportunity to raise sponsorship dollars or to further reward their existing sponsors.
CASN/RSAC will assist the participating sports, on a request basis, in packaging and selling this advertising inventory.
CASN/RSAC will encourage those sports that enjoy coverage on other networks to maintain their current television network relationships. The CASN/RSAC mission is to increase the coverage of amateur sport, not to compete with other television networks.
CASN/RSAC will:
- Provide much needed televised exposure and profile;
- Pay all associated television production costs;
- Allocate up to one-third of the available advertising inventory for the use of the participating amateur sport organization at no charge;
- Provide the services of a professional marketing and sales team, on a request basis, at no cost to the amateur sport organization to assist in optimal utilization of the allocated advertising inventory.

- Underwrite travel expenses for athletes, teams, coaches, crew and staff;
- Defray television related venue overheads;
- Subsidize the cost of providing host broadcast facilities for international events.
